Sunshines

***Sunday, April 24th, 2011***

We have had a nice Easter.  We ate breakfast at one of my favorites breakfast places EMILY'S.  They do a great breakfast that includes an all you can eat free buffet of cakes and fresh fruit.  I don't really want to tell too many people about it because it will get busy.  Lucky for me, only a few people read this blog!!

How cute are these!

The white one is a Philippines dish.

While it isn't always this impressive, it is always an impressive spread.  Look at the cupcake peeps!

So I just wanted to say something about my own two little peeps.  We were visiting some new puppies today, and the pup that I was holding started to make those baby grunting sounds that only puppies make, which I had forgotten they make, and it made me want to write down the following, so I will never forget it.

There's something about the newly found warm weather, that transforms me into the mother that I want to be all of the time.

I am patient with Lone this weekend, as we walk around the block.  I find myself having the time to stop and compare the textures and colours of the different types of mosses we meet along the road's way.  I study her face and her hair (hair I would kill to have), in the sunlight and marvel at this special child with braids that perch on her shoulders.  I forget that she does the opposite of everything I ask of her these days. That she is so head strong.  I don't even mind when she complains (for the second time, first to daddy earlier) that my toenails scratch her in the tub (yes it's often a communal tub, have you seen the price of gas!! We have a hummer!!)  I just find her funny and adorable and I laugh.

I like how quiet and gentle I am with Smyth during these sunny days.  I marvel at her genius as she immediately understands the workings of her new Easter toy and   puts the balls in the big pocket.  I don't even care that she is almost eleven months and seems no closer to crawling, let alone walking.  She is smart and quick and waves at my breast when I tell her "it's time to say bye bye to the boo", when it's apparent that she's not really hungry and I want to put down my shirt.  In the afternoon sun she is a bright shinning beacon of my love and she amazes me by how she has slipped in as the forth member of this family and made it so none of us can remember nor imagine life without her.

I can't imagine life without either of them and while yes, I miss dancing the night away, I look forward to showing these little girls some of my more current dance moves.

My girls, like the sun, warm my heart and my home.
